Just reminding you that there are only a few more days left til the Dance Xpression Workshop this Saturday January 21st from 1-4pm at Gotta Dance Studios. Kay-Ann and I are soooo xcited to bring you this exclusive workshop that will help bring out your inner vixen and confidence!

Here is a little breakdown of what to expect from each style on the day...

Hot n Heels (taught by myself)
I'm sure we've all noticed that girl walking down the street, or at the night club and admired her comfidence, power and sass. This Hot n Heels will help you feel the same way, by exploring your confidence through dance moves and having fun while doing it! Don't worry, this is a friendly environment and everyone is in the class to have fun, sweat and learn new ways to Xpress themselves so DO NOT feel intimidated! Since the style of the class is called Hot n Heels, heels are recommended but NOT mandatory. We do encourage everyone to bring some heels to try it out, whether it be high heels or kitten heels, but flats are also an option for those not entirely comfortable in the heels!!
I will be teaching this style from 1-2:30pm.

Dance Vixen (taught by Kay-Ann)

This style is all about embracing yourself, and being free with your movement. It’s dancing with confidence, sensuality and a little edge to keep your audience intrigued and wanting more. It’s playful, yet sexy and smart. The Dance vixen style brings you to the dance floor and allows to you to let go and be the vixen that is waiting to be released. You have seen Beyonce, Ciara, and other artist strut their movements; well it’s your turn to tap into yourself.

Both styles are open to beginners and dancers with experience, everyone will gain something from these classes and leave wanting more!! So put on some comfortable clothes that Xpress your style and come on out.

It's the last month of 2011...make it a good one!

As the year winds down, I've been looking back at all that happened in 2011...feeling blessed and excited for what the new year has in store. The years have been going by faster and faster as I get older and it's kinda scary lol. Time to get myself in gear and make the necessary moves to reach my goals.

But without putting any work into those thoughts, they will not manifest!

UNTIL TODAY! December 3rd

I will know peace when...I stop finding excuses for what I am not doing.

You can fool some people some time but you can never fool yourself. You can tell yourself almost anything to excuse away your fear. The bad news is, you will actually believe it for a while. The good news is, there will come a time when the excuse will not be strong enough or big enough to camouflage your fear. Eventually what you tell yourself will begin to sound so weak, so lame, so utterly ridiculous that you will have a hard time convincing yourself or anyone else that it is true. When that time comes, don't be defensive. Be willing to face the thing you fear.

As long as there is something you fear lurking in the back of your mind, you cannot, will not have peace of mind. When you defend yourself for taking or not taking a particular action, you are denying the foundation upon which peace is built. Truth! When, however, you wait or prepare to the point of avoiding what you say you really want to do, when you know you are afraid but refuse to admit it, there is no way you can have peace of mind. In fact, if you insist on defending the excuse, you may lose your mind.

Until today, you may have found yourself making excuses for not confronting the things you fear. You may have had a great excuse for remaining in a relationship, work environment or living arrangement that is not fulfilling. Just for today, lay down all of your excuses. Ask yourself, "What am I afraid of that makes me stay here?" Make a list of the responses that come to mind. Prayerfully offer the list to the Holy Spirit, asking it to show you the way out. Repeat the process as often as necessary until all excuses vanish.

Today I am devoted to eliminating all excuses that camouflage fear!

NBA is BACK!!!

Woohhoooo!! After a 149-day lockout, the NBA is finally going to return on Christmas Day!! It really wouldn't be a Christmas Day without the NBA's top teams battling it out while my entire family eats a huge meal and sips on some good wine! I'm so excited...if both sides agree on the tentative deal training camps and free agency will open on December 6th and the Christmas Day matchup would be : the Boston Celtics at New York Knicks, followed by Miami at Dallas in an NBA finals rematch before MVP Derrick Rose and Chicago visiting Kobe Bryant and the Lakers.

The fans have been patient long enough while these millionaires and billionaires fight over money! Let's goooo and get this 66-game season underway! Owwwwww :)

Wow! I honestly have the best man in the world. He orchestrated the most amazing surprise for me for my birthday! He came home from Scotland and surprised me at dinner, and then thru me a surprise party at his place with my closest friends! MMA made its debut to prime time on FOX tonight with Junior Dos Santos winning the heavyweight championship belt against Cain Velasquez in 1:04 of the first round! Craaaaaazy! I barely got time to finish my martini and all the snacks I had hahaha! Dos Santos cracked him good with a right to the temple and then pounced on him and it was over for that Velasquez!

Last nights main event and co-main event matches were pretty dope! In the Koscheck vs Hughes match, Matt Hughes was definitely the crowd favorite as he came into the fight as a future hall of famer and most likely fighting in his last match! But it was Koscheck who ended up victorious landing punch after punch and finishing Hughes off at the end of the first round with a knockout at 4:59. Beautiful performance from the season 1 Ultimate fighter star as he proved he's still a force to be reckoned with and was humble in his victory.

The main event was Jon "Bones" Jones vs Quentin "Rampage" Jackson in a match where Jobes was defedibg his title. And boy oh boy did he ever solidify that genus the present and future of MMA fighting! Rampage was in the best shape of his life and trained for months in Denver in preparation for this Jones fight, but Jones is a beast and threw Jackson a flurry of kicks, knee, elbows and punches to ultimately finish Jackson off at 1:14 in the 4th round! Rampage was humble in his defeat and said that Jones is the truth and he trained intensely for the match and still couldn't find a way to come out victorious!

Wicked match and now up next for Jones is Rashad Evans! No doubt gonna be a match to watch considering the history between the two!

Open Air Fest

This past Sunday at the Open Air Festival at Chinguacousy Park in Brampton the cast of 'Breakaway' walked the red carpet, made an appearance and performed for their fans! The mayor of Brampton was also in attendance and us dancers were able to perform once again...this time around the stage was waaaaaay bigger and the peformance was great!

Russell Peters and Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Vinay Virmani were also in attendance! Russell did a bit of stand up introducing the rest of the cast and and Vinay performed alongside the dancers to the Chera de Kaum!

It's TIFF out here in Toronto and last night I got the opportunity to dance at the premiere party for the hit movie "Breakaway" starring Russell Peters, Rob Lowe, Ludacris and Vinay! The movie is hilariously funny and everyone should go see it if you have the chance.

I ended up working on the film on a part of the movie where Ludacris does a video and I was one of few dancers! It was a fun shoot choreographed by So You Think You Can Dance Canada's head judge Trè Armstrong! She worked alongside Bollywood choreographer extraordinaire Divya who was choreographer of the film.

My girl Minerva got the opportunity to choreograph a series of routines for last nights premiere that 7 of us ladies danced at and had an amazing time. Even though the stage ended up being a lot smaller than what we had at tech run the show was still a success and everyone loved it! Woot woot...here are a few pics from the day, enjoy!

I am faith-filled and fear-free because ...I have something to do and someone to be.

There is a saying that "Your family tree can put a noose around your neck!" This means that some of us are born into families and experiences that are well below the place to which we are destined to rise. Even when we know a ms understand this, we may feel guilty about achieving what could be considered by un-achievers as "too much". We continually question ourselves, wondering why we should be so lucky, so blessed to be able to crawl out of the black hole of pain or dysfunction We have come to know as the norm. We question if we are being selfish. Some of us wonder if our abilities are a fluke of some kind. Poor creatures! We have no idea that every accomplishment, every success is the result of God's command to "come ye out from among them!"

We do not get divine brownie points for remaining with people who are not moving. In fact, staying where we are may quell any motivation others may have to move forward. "Come yeh out from among them" is God's way of saying go out! Do it! Use what God has given you to make yourself better or make a better life for yourself. "Come yeh our from among them" is God's way of assuring you that you can depend on God's promises. If you are not sure what the promises are, re-read the messages of the past five days. Then, pass what you have learned on to someone you know who is not moving.

Until today, you may have questioned why you seem able to do what no one else you know has been able to do. You may have felt guilty about your success or underestimated your accomplishments. Just for today, remember and realize that you are lick g embodiment of God's promises. What you do teaches others what they, too, can doo.

Today I am devoted to moving out beyond what is normal and what is expected!!&

The Top 22 Dancers

Hey y'all!!

If u haven't been watching So You Think You Can Dance Canada, now is a good time to start!! The Top 22 performed for the first time last night in their couples and they all did an amazing job. The calibre of talent on the show this year is sooooooo great...a lot of real contenders, not to mention a bunch of Toronto peeps on their representing woot wooooot!! :D

Make sure everyone watches and votes for their favs...Also, check out tonights episode of the results show! I assisted head judge and choreographer Luther Brown with the opening number. It is gonna be HOT HOT HOT!!! So glad to have the opportunity to work with such an amazing choreographer! :)

Unfortunately, I haven't been keeping up with my Until Today! book as of late...But today I felt compelled to pick it up and read the July 5th passage and I am so glad that I did! It definitely spoke to me and had everything to do with a conversation I had just a few hours prior. The Lord works in mysterious way I tell ya...

Anyways, here is the passage...enjoy! :)

JULY 5 th

I will gain more understanding when I realize...exactly where I am is exactly where I need to be.

How many days of the week do you spend wondering why you are not further along than you are? If thinking about it makes you angry or frustrated, you are definitely not on the right track. Exactly where is it that you believe you need to be? Why isn't where you are just fine? You can only be where you are, and it is up to you to make the best of it. You cannot get to where you are going until you have learned all there is to learn about about where you are. There are always powerful, insightful, sometimes shocking things we need to know about ourselves. Those lessons are not over there. The things you need to know about you are right where you are.

While you may think you know it all, there is some reliable information about your beliefs, your doubts, your stamina and your behaviour patterns right where you are sitting. Right under your nose there is something you have forgotten, neglected, resisted or denied. At your right side, or on your left side, there is a blessing that has not been acknowledged, a hurt that has not been forgiven, a skill that remains underdeveloped or a good you have yet to do. Everything and everyone that is available in the place you are in right now has something to teach you or something to give you. The reason you may have missed the lessons to be learned, or refused the gifts being offered right where you are, is you are preoccupied with where you want to be.

Until today, you have missed the lesson, ignored the blessings or denied the truth about where you are in life. Just for today, devote yourself to answering the following questions: What do I believe about where I am? What do I think about where I am? What do I feel about where I am? What do I tell myself about where I am? In your answers, you will find your ticket to the place you need to be.

Today I am devoted to learning all I need to learn about where I am!

With the 5th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Toronto Raptors choose....Jonas Valanciunas! Ummmm, who?!?! What the hell Colangelo??? You NEED to be fired after that dumb pick! You had the chance to pick up Kemba Walker, yet you went with the European (again) kid that may not even play this season cause he needs more development?!?! FAIL!!! I dunno how much longer I can support this sh*t! SMH

But on to more exciting news....WIMBLEDON!!! Woot wooooot! Wimbledon has started and looks like my favs are doing well in the first week so far! After almost a full year away from tennis, 2 foot surgeries, a hematoma, and blood clots on her lung, Serena Williams is back and playing like she never left! She is commanding the court like she is known to do and is looking good to win the tournament...but so is her sister Venus who is also playing amazingly well after being out for several months as well! Get 'em girrrrrls!

And then there's my absolute fav Federer crushing it on the mens singles side as per usual!!! Would love to see him win his 7th Wimbledon championship! Do it up Fed!!
